Originally eight hours long, the webinar explored the interwoven rules, Business and Saless and ethics at play in the plan and proposal surveying project. It contained many ethical and legal “do’s” and “need to know” warnings, along with “what not to do” warnings. Some of the ethical rules explored include those from the old TBPLS, which are still in effect.
Part 4: Two Hours
The concluding webinar explores the surveyor’s dilemma when he is confronted with the obvious “squatter” “rights” in various forms, probably implying the title of restriction and the necessity of prejudicial possession.

Ken Gold is a surveying and mapping consultant with limited practice; legal analysis and testimony; Instructor of surveying short courses and seminars specializing in dealing with surveying problems and surveying education. He attends Texas A&M, Corpus Christi and specialized seminars for the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors. His professional career began in 1944 at Hudson Engineering; interrupted by World War II where he served in the U.S . Marine Corps; returned for inspection in Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Oklahoma. He has worked both in the field and in the office.
Some of Mr. Gold’s past and current professional accomplishments include President of TSPS, Chair of the TSPS Standards Committee, Member of ACSM, Member of the Board of Governors and the NSPS Board. of Directors, former Chair of Excellence in Surveying, Blucher Institute of Surveying and Science, two-time winner of TSPS Surveyor of the Year, TSPS 2012 Eminent Educator Award, author of Decisions, a TSPS publication, and past Chair of the TBPLS Element Design Committee.
